NASA's Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS) instruments
provide global measurements of total column ozone on a daily
basis. Nimbus-7 TOMS and Meteor-3 TOMS together operated from
November 1978 -December 1994. A gap of one and a half years followed.
ADEOS TOMS provided data from August 17, 1996 until June 29,
1997 when the spacecraft failed. Earth Probe TOMS was launched
on July 2, 1996 and provided data through 2005. The Aura spacecraft, launched
in July 2004 and designed with a six-year lifetime, contains an Ozone Monitoring
Instrument which provides current data.
