WHY CONSIDER SUPPLEMENTS LISTED AT NUTRITION INVESTIGATOR With thousands of supplements available from hundreds of companies, how can I claim that supplements linked to Nutrition Investigator might be useful for the average person to consider? ONLY THE NUTRIENTS A WELL-INFORMED PERSON WOULD TAKE IN A SUPPLEMENT - NOTHING UNNECESSARY OR HAZARDOUS As explained in the History of Nutrition Investigator, this site grew out of patented originalresearch discoveries of how much vitamin C and calcium are usefully absorbed by people. Although it has long been recognized that vitamin C and calcium are essential to good health, patented research linked to Nutrition Investigator led to the discovery of how much one should take. This research was followed by reports in the scientific and medical literature which demonstrated the useful dosage of another crucial antioxidant micronutrient, vitamin E. What about all the other nutrients we require regularly for good health? My next question was whether a multivitamin, which supplies 100% of the RDAs, was worthwhile. Many experts feel that a multivitamin is unnecessary in our society, because our food provides such good basic nutrition (contrary to what many pill-pushers would like you to believe). But when I looked at what studies have been done on multivitamins, the results were shocking. Remember that your diet also provides about 100% of what you need daily. Taken together, you are getting 200%, twice as much as you need, MORE than you need. Most people realize twice as many calories as you need is bad, taking twice the recommended dosage of medication can be hazardous, driving twice the speed limit is foolish. Based on the formulation of vitamins C and E and calcium, I set out to determine what other nutrients are safe, may be beneficial to your health, and are deficient in the typical diet in this country. Supplements linked through Nutrition Investigator are selected to provide safe, proven nutrition. We do not provide what you must get from the food you eat, but what is safe and proven to be of potential benefit when taken as a supplement. How much are an additional 5-10 years or more of good health worth to average individual? We believe that the proper supplements with good diet and exercise might provide much more. |
