453 grams (g) equal 1 pound (lb)

kg body weight means how many kilograms you weigh. 2.2 pounds (lb.) are 1 kilograms (kg). A 150 lb person weighs about 70 kg.

5 g per kg body weight: This means you require5 grams per kg that you weigh. For example (e.g.), a 150 lb person weighs about 70 kg, so s/he would require 5x70 = 350g (about 1 pound) to provide enough for the entire person.

~1.2 g·kg-1·h-1: This is grams per kilogram per hour. It describes how many grams of something you require per kilogram of body weight per hour. For this particular value, 1.2, it means that a 150 lb. individual would require 84 g, about a quarter pound, of carbohydrate (like starch/potato/rice) per hour.

0.1g/kg: grams to consume per kilogram of body weight. For this particular example, a 150 lb. individual would consume 1/4 ounce.
