February 4, 1998 - JAMA [Journal of the American Medical Association] - A study indicates that intakes of folate and vitamin B6 nearly double the Daily Value are associated with lower rates of heart disease in a study of 80,086 nurses

October 22, 1997 - JAMA -"Ginkgo reduces age-associated memory loss" - -A 52-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of 309 patients indicates that Ginkgo biloba, specifically 120 mg of a standardized formulation known as Egb 761, "was safe and appears capable of stabilizing and, in a substantial number of cases, improving the cognitive performance and the social functioning of demented [Alzheimer's] patients..."

1996 - Nutrition - "Vitamin C supplementation and common cold symptoms: problems with inaccurate reviews" -This recent peer-reviewed study indicates that vitamin C may indeed reduce cold symptoms, and that previous evaluations were biased. "Studies carried out since then have consistently found that vitamin C (> or = 1 g/d) alleviates common cold symptoms... Three of the most influential reviews drawing this conclusion [that vitamin C does not help] are considered in the present article...these three reviews are shown to contain serious inaccuracies and shortcomings, making them unreliable sources on the topic"

1994 - AGE - "Urinary Excretion of Vitamin C" - Our results support the conclusion that in order to maintain continuously elevated levels of vitamin C in the urine, at least  500 mg of vitamin C should be taken  twice daily.
