SUBJ: Supplements to consider from Roc, Nutrition Investigator

For active links, go to http://chemistry.beloit.edu/Ordman/nutrition/amls/em063010 sups.htm
In the interest of full disclosure, I decided to add the following supplements to the lists of those to consider taking if you are over 50. I take them as indicated. There are links to each explaining a little about why I take them and where to find them on line, except melatonin that is inexpensive in drug stores. THOUGH THESE HAVE ONLY BEEN WIDELY USED IN THE 21ST CENTURY, THESE SUPPLEMENTS ARE ALSO TAKEN BY ME:
Resveratrol – taken every morning
Melatonin – 3 mg, four bedtimes per week
Juvenon – taken every morning

Many other products are occasionally recommended to me, but when I cannot find sufficient scientific literature justifying them, and have not heard about them at meetings, I do not mention them. For a list of supplements people of various ages and genders might take if they discussed the scientific literature with their physicians, please look here.

Thoreau's three truths: "that this earth is a garden of delights; that the world crowds round the individual, leaving him no vista, and shuts out the beauty of the earth; and that the wholesome wants of man are few."
